    Organic Raw Honeydew Honey 500g

    ,

    What are Organic products?

Organic products are products made in eco-agriculture, which means that in beekeeping, the amount of human interference is minimal, and the use of chemical or non-organic factors is deliberately disallowed in the final stages (including the sources from which bees forage nectar) In the event of an illness in the bee population, the treatment does not include antibiotics and alternative procedures are preferred. The bees are kept in all-wooden hives treated with flaxseed varnish. The honey is typically stored in grocers' barrels and cans. The bees are not precluded from swarming, which is a basic and natural aspect of their life. However, the needs of the bees must be balanced against the needs of the beekeeper, since nowadays, bees are fully reliant on the keepers and their care. Our organic honey comes from a farm in Dolní Křečany in the Czech republic.

    More about Organic farm

The farm is located in the protected areas of Lužické Hory and Labské Pískovce, which surround the national park Czech Switzerland (České Švýcarsko). In these unpolluted areas unaffected by industrial activity are three stable and 15 migrating bee populations. In winter, the bees are relocated to stable places, where they are fed by a solution of honey and water. In spring, they are distributed among the migrating places, depending on where the best foraging grounds are. Due to the farm's diversity and independence, they own over 30 hectares of ploughlands, where they plant low-maintenance plants, such as a natural variety of buckwheat, which is primarily used as feed for the bees. It allows the bees to produce a honey that is rich in nutrients and provides them with high quality pollen. After pollination, the buckwheat is sold to bakeries and as animal feed. The farm also owns 12 hectares of flower meadows and 30 hectares of forest and makes use of 1500 hectares of pastures from fellow eco-friendly farmers, where the bees forage occasionally. After removing, the honey is ran through wide mesh sieves to separate only large pieces of wax. The honey is not filtered any further. The producers try to keep it as close to its natural state as possible. Then, honey is only poured into cans. It is never melted, as that could lead to its degradation. All honey is subject to the strict testing of the Inspection Body of KEZ (Inšpekčný orgán ekológie KEZ,o.p.s.), and only gets the organic certificate after perfect laboratory analysis in cca 700 residuals. At the farm, the farmers try to be as close to the bees as possible. They adapt to the needs of the bees and move to areas with enough foraging grounds. While collecting honey, they always leave at least 20 kg of honey in the hive, so as not to limit the bees in their pollination efforts or cause distress and hunger. This is the highest quality honey and the only farm in the Czech Republic to produce ORGANIC HONEY of such high quality. Our thanks to Mr. Bc.Vojtěch Hájny, the “beemaster” at Farma-Dolní Křečany.

    Forest 900g

Forest honey is darker in color than other common types of honey. It is exceptionally high in mineral and nutrient content: just one teaspoon can equal 2-4 teaspoons of other types of honey. In additional to its nutritional value, the higher price is caused by its scarcity and the fact that the amount of honeydew is dependent on climatic conditions. Honeydew, which is the basis of all honeydew honey, is an insect product, more specifically the product of scale insects and aphids. These insects bite into leaves and consume their juices as a source of food, later excreting it onto leaves, where bees can forage it and process it into honey. It comes mostly from the leafy and mixed mountain forests from the areas of Donovaly and Spiš.

    Multifloral 900g

Multifloral honey is a natural concentrate of the nectar from plant blossoms and flowers (typically found in meadows, pastures, fields, or gardens), the vast majority of which are considered medicinal plants. It is easy to digest, thanks to its higher content of simple sugars – glucose and fructose. The honey contains the pollen grains of various plants, which increases its content of important natural substances with a stimulant effect, plant hormones, essential oils, aromatic compounds, etc. The name of this type of honey does not mean that it is mixed from different types of honey (such as acacia, rapeseed, etc.) but rather that this honey is not created from the nectar of one type of plant, like acacia honey, but is created from the nectar of different plants, i.e. it is mixed from different types of nectar which was brought into the hive by the bees. It is mixed by the bees themselves. This honey comes from the mountain, as well as valley meadows from all around Slovakia. It contains the nectar from the blossoms of different plants and fruit-bearing trees.
